ADJ’s New Vizi Beam RX2 Moving Heads Shine Bright at QUOTENFETE
Billed as ‘the biggest rural youth party in the universe’, QUOTENFETE is an annual agricultural party hosted at the ÖVB Arena in Bremen, Germany. For the most recent edition of the event, production company SoLight Veranstaltungstechnik utilized 28 recently purchased ADJ Vizi Beam RX2 automated luminaires to fill the venue with piercing aerial effects.
Attracting a sellout crowd of over 8000 young people from rural communities across Germany, QUOTENFETE is a huge party that combines live performances and DJ sets performed from a huge arena stage with novelty competitions including milk can lifting, mechanical bull riding and milking cows! The main arena of this year’s event featured huge pieces of agricultural machinery flown above the dancefloor, which provided a unique setting for the event’s musical special guest, Luca-Dante Spadofora who performed his German smash hit ‘Mädchen auf dem Pferd’ (‘Girl on the Horse’).
Responsible for the full audio, video and lighting production for QUOTENFETE 2024, SoLight Veranstaltungstechnik is a well-established production company based in Achim. With a long history of utilizing ADJ lighting fixtures within its rental fleet, the company invested in 28 of the new ADJ Vizi Beam RX2 moving heads just prior to the event, making it the perfect opportunity for a road test.
“Since we were already very satisfied with the predecessor, the RXONE, there was no reason not to go for the RX2,” explains Ulrik Borcherdt, Managing Director of SoLight Veranstaltungstechnik. “We affectionately nicknamed the RXONE ‘Bonsai-Sharpy’ because it’s a multitool for many different applications in our portfolio. For the upgraded model, it was important for us to get a few more features, maintain the same output, and keep the unit small and compact. The RX2 delivers on all these requirements. We also particularly value the price-performance ratio, the reliability of ADJ fixtures, and, in the rare case something doesn’t work, the quick and reliable support we receive from ADJ.”
Taking the best-selling Vizi Beam RXONE to the next level, the Vizi Beam RX2 is a compact and quick moving head beam fixture. Powered by a potent 100W Osram Sirius HRI discharge lamp with a 6,000-hour lifespan, this dynamic fixture delivers stunning aerial effects with a precise 2-degree beam angle. Upgraded 3-phase pan/tilt motors allow lightning-fast movement, while a rich collection of beam-shaping features deliver maximum creativity. The fixture offers a 14-color dichroic wheel that includes CTO (3200K), CTB (4500K & 9000K) & UV filters alongside a separate wheel featuring 15 static GOBOs + open (including 3 beam reducers). Another upgrade over the original model, the RX2 boasts a choice of two rotating prisms – 16-facet circular and 6-facet linear – that can be overlaid, in place of the single prism offered by the RXONE. In addition, the new model features motorized focus as well as the frost filter. For added flexibility, the fixture is also equipped with ADJ's new Aria X2 wireless technology, allowing wireless DMX control and remote fixture management.
At QUOTENFETE 2024, the Vizi Beam RX2 fixtures were divided into two groups. The first set served to illuminate the agricultural machinery suspended from the ceiling, utilizing the fixtures’ internal frost filters. The second set was deployed on the stage to generate piercing aerial effects, using a variety of GOBO and prism combinations to fill the whole arena with razor-sharp beams.
