Eliminator Lighting’s New Mega Wash 24 Offers Big Color Output for Electrifying Excitement
Designed to deliver a blaze of vibrant color, Eliminator Lighting’s new Mega Wash 24 is a compact yet powerful LED wash fixture suitable for lighting stages, dancefloors, events, and more. Offering huge versatility, it is ideal for use by mobile DJs and other entertainers as well as for installation in bars, clubs, lounges, fun centers, trampoline parks, roller rinks, and other leisure venues.
Featuring twenty-four 10-Watt 6-in-1 HEX LEDs, the Mega Wash 24 can be used to generate a broad spectrum of vibrant colors. Each LED combines red, green, blue, white, amber, and UV elements, which can be combined with varying intensities to create an almost limitless palette of color options. The UV element allows for a ‘black light’ effect to be created, which causes white and neon colored décor and clothing to glow when used alone, and it can also be combined with other elements to create vibrant colors like hot pink, deep purple, and electric blue.
The LEDs are divided on the face of the fixture into six separate clusters of four LEDs. Each cluster has a beam angle of 25-degrees and is angled slightly away from the others, which means that when all six clusters are illuminated the fixture covers an extremely wide area. The separate clusters can also be controlled independently, which allows for the creation of animated chase patterns that are ideal for injecting energy onto a stage or dance floor. This energy level can be dialed up even further thanks to variable speed strobing, which is available in any color.
A robust all-metal construction means that the Mega Wash 24 is ready for the grueling demands of a life on the road, while the supplied variable angle bracket can be used for both permanent installation and hanging from a T-bar stand or truss rig at temporary events. The bracket can either be attached to the top or rear of the fixture, for increased rigging flexibility, while a Safety Loop on the rear is provided for attaching a safety wire. The unit also features twin cooling fans, which ensure the effect is subject to no duty cycle requirements – it can run non-stop if required.
On the rear panel of the fixture are 3-pin DMX input and output sockets as well as an IEC AC input socket and a 3-prong Edison output socket, which can be used to daisy-chain the power supply for multiple units from a single outlet. There is also a 4-character LED display, together with four push buttons, which provide a menu-driven interface for mode selection and DMX addressing. The unit is also equipped with two IR sensors for remote control, one on the front and one on the rear, allowing reliable wireless control from both in front and behind.
This versatile fixture offers a variety of operating modes suitable for numerous applications. It features twenty-two pre-programmed color macros, which can be selected directly from the menu for easy setup of static color washing. The menu also provides independent 0-100% dimming control for the six primary LED colors to allow any custom color to be selected without the need for external control. Eighteen pre-programmed chase programs are also provided, which can be selected from the menu and set to run at a constant speed specified by the user. Alternatively, twelve sound activated programs are also available, triggered by an internal microphone with customizable sensitivity.
For integration into a larger lighting system, the fixture offers full DMX control with a choice of four channel modes: 3, 6, 10 and 40. The 3-channel mode provides remote selection of the fixtures’ pre-programmed patterns, while the 40-channel mode allows independent color mixing control of each independent cluster of LEDs. To create a simple synchronized lightshow using two or more Mega Wash 24 fixtures without DMX control, the fixtures also offer a Primary/Secondary mode. This causes every ‘Secondary’ fixture to mimic the output of the ‘Primary’ fixture, which can be set to either a static color or to run one of the automatic or sound activated programs.
The fixture is also supplied with a simple wireless infrared remote control, which can be used to remotely select any of the preprogrammed patterns – including setting the speed – as well as to select the sound activated patterns. It also features master Off and On buttons, for blacking out and reactivating the effect, as well as shortcut buttons to trigger 12 of the static color macros.
Weighing in at just 3.6 kgs., the Mega Wash 24 is easy to lift, carry and rig. It is also extremely compact, with dimensions of 310mm x 226mm x 273mm (LxWxH), making it convenient to transport for mobile events and suitable for installation even in venues with low a ceiling height.
“Offering big output that covers a wide area, the Mega Wash 24 is a lighting powerhouse,” comments Albert Paredes, Product Manager for Eliminator Lighting. “With six independently controllable zones and a variety of operating modes, it is suitable for a variety of uses. These range from illuminating a stage with white light, to creating the right mood at an event with vibrant washes of intense color, to getting the party started on a dancefloor with pulsating chase effects.”
The Eliminator Lighting Mega Wash 24 is available now in the Americas and will begin shipping in Europe from Summer 2024.
