The flagship of the current Focus Series line-up, the Focus Profile was released in 2022 and is a feature-packed automated profile luminaire powered by a potent 400W LED light engine that generates an impressive output of 20,000 lumens. It is the brightest and most feature-rich fixture in the Focus Series to date. Designed for theatrical, concert touring and event production applications, it offers a versatile array of creative features. These include four rotating framing shutters with shape rotation, an animation wheel, motorized zoom (beam angle 7 ~ 45-degrees), motorized iris, motorized focus, CMY color mixing and variable CTO color temperature control, an additional color wheel loaded with six dichroic filters (including CTB and CRI), two separate GOBO wheels (one with interchangeable indexed-rotating GOBOs and the other with static metal-stamped GOBOs), a replaceable (medium) frost filter and two independent indexed rotating prisms: 3-facet circular and 6-facet linear.
The Focus Hybrid, a versatile fixture which can function interchangeably as a spot, wash, or beam luminaire, is another 2022 addition to the series. It features an efficient 200W cool white (7,500K) LED engine capable of generating an output of 4,100 lumens. This light is focused through a precision-engineered optical system and a variety of beam-shaping elements to generate a flexible output which can be used to create aerial effects, surface pattern projections or color washes. The Focus Hybrid offers a beam angle variable between an intense 2-degrees and a significantly wider 24-degrees, with motorized zoom providing quick and precise changes between beam angle settings. In addition, motorized focus can be used to ensure pattern projections are sharp at variable beam angles and projection distances, while a frost filter can be used to further widen the beam angle and soften the beam edge to achieve a wash output. A Heavy Frost filter is fitted as default, but this can be replaced to suit the needs of specific applications and a Medium Filter is also supplied together with the fixture as standard. A dedicated wheel offers a choice between 11 dichroic color options (plus open), including a 3200K CTO filter for achieving a warm white output. The fixture also boasts two independent GOBO wheels, one featuring 7 slots for interchangeable indexed rotating GOBO patterns and the other featuring 15 static stamped metal GOBOs (including four beam reducers). Two rotating prism options are also provided – 8-facet circular and 6-facet linear – for creating multibeam surface textures and dynamic mid-air effects.
A dedicated wash luminaire, the Focus Wash 400 combines a potent color mixing LED light engine with a Fresnel lens and motorized zoom mechanism to create a versatile soft-edged beam with a high CRI in excess of 90 and output of up to 4,600 lumens. At the heart of the fixture is a powerful 400W six-in-one LED light source, which combines red, green, blue, amber, cyan and lime LED chips to offer unrivalled color mixing for stage-based applications. As well as traditional independent dimming control of the LED source’s six primary colors, the unit also offers a useful virtual CMY mode as well as exacting control over white light color temperature through both pre-set macros and linear control from 2700K - 6500K. The Focus Wash 400 is fitted with a 6-inch Fresnel lens, which creates a soft-edged wash output with a very even field and no color shadows. This is paired with a motorized zoom function with a variable beam angle of 10 to 41-degrees, making for an extremely versatile fixture. The perfect wash companion to the other Focus Series fixtures, the Focus Wash 400 is ideal for illuminating all kinds of stages and performance spaces, both for live and broadcast audiences.
Compact, quick, and punchy, the Focus Flex is a versatile fixture capable of creating wash, beam, and pixel effects. Designed to provide lighting designers with both flexibility and creative potential, it is ideal for event production and rental applications as well as for permanent installation in concert halls, theatres, nightclubs, and churches. The fixture is powered by an array of seven potent 40-Watt 4-in-1 RGBW color mixing LEDs, each of which can be controlled independently. Through mixing the intensity of the primary LED colors, a huge gamut of output colors can be created to suit any mood or desired look. The fixture features a convenient Virtual CMY mode, which allows control alongside native CMY color mixing fixtures using hardware/software CMY color picker/pallete tools. It also offers Virtual Foreground and Background Color Wheel control as well as white light output with variable color temperature of between 2700K to 10,000K. Motorized zoom allows the field angle of the Focus Flex to be altered remotely between a wide 57-degrees and narrow 6-degrees, which allows it to be used for creating both broad washes and concise beams. Its extremely quick motor movement allows for the creation of stunning high-impact aerial effects, while 16-bit fine motor control ensures precise positioning. Finally, released in the last quarter of 2022, the Focus Flex L7 shares the same casing design and feature set as the original version, but with 4-in-1 red, green, blue, and lime LEDs. This allows it to deliver an output of 3,500 lumens (increased from 3000 on the original Focus Flex) as well as a higher CRI of 84 (compared to the 78 of the original model). This increased CRI renders colors more accurately when the fixture is used as a wash to illuminate scenery, décor, or performers, which is particularly important to ensure natural skin tones and enhanced depth.
Introduced in 2023, the new Focus Flex L19 builds on the success of the original Focus Flex and Focus Flex L7 by offering a significantly larger fixture utilizing the same potent LEDs and inheriting the same rich feature set as the more compact models. The L19 features nineteen high output 40-Watt RGBL (red, green, blue & lime) color mixing LEDs. These are arranged in three concentric circles across the face of the fixture and can be controlled independently to allow for the creation of ‘eye candy’ animation patterns as well as for pixel-mapped playback of low-resolution video content. As with the L7, the inclusion of the lime LED chip allows for an enhanced color palette as well as a high CRI of 84.2. The fixture’s LEDs are positioned behind a textured front lens which focuses the light output as well as providing protection for the LEDs. The whole assembly is then mounted to a motorized zoom mechanism, which provides quick and precise field angle alteration between 5 and 50-degrees. The useful Virtual CMY mode as well as Variable Color Temperature control and Color Temperature presets are all inherited from the smaller versions. The fixture also features the same advanced Virtual Background and Foreground Color Wheel control which can be paired with a selection of variable speed macro effects to simply generate engaging eye candy looks without the need for complex programming or advanced control systems.
At the top of the Focus Series’ range of spot fixtures is the new Focus Spot 7Z. Released in 2023, this versatile fixture is ideal for production applications – including concert tours, theatrical performances and large conferences – as well as for integration into large nightclubs, concert halls, theaters and entertainment venues. It incorporates an efficient 420W LED light engine, which is paired with superior optics to deliver an output of up to 20,000 Lumens. Loaded with beam-shaping tools, the fixture provides Lighting Designers with almost unlimited creative potential. Its feature set begins with CMY color mixing, which allows for a vast selection of colors to match any mood or look. There is also a variable CTO flag, which can be used to select any color temperature of white light output from 2,700K to 8,000K. In addition, the luminaire also incorporates a separate 7-slot (plus open) dichroic color wheel loaded with red, green, blue, orange and dark blue as well as CTB and High CRI filters. The fixture has a native CRI of >73, which can be increased to >85 using the High CRI filter. Two independent indexed-rotating replaceable GOBO wheels, each with seven slots plus open, allow for a choice of 14 different patterns. The fixture also features an indexed rotating animation wheel, which can be used to generate engaging and complex moving projections, especially when used in conjunction with one of the rotating GOBO options. The unit’s extensive feature set also includes motorized zoom, focus and iris; two rotating prisms and two frost filters.
Next up is, the Focus Spot 6Z, which combines impressive output of up to 11,000 lumens with a comprehensive feature set to deliver a true lighting powerhouse. It is ideal for touring and rental applications as well as permanent installation in concert venues and large nightclubs. The fixture utilizes a potent 300W cool white LED engine paired with a precision-engineered high-quality optical system to deliver extremely punchy output, allowing for sharp aerial effects and crisp GOBO projections. Motorized focus is combined with motorized zoom to offer a variable beam angle range of between 9 and 28-degrees. The fixture also boasts motorized iris and shutter functions alongside two 6-facet indexed rotating prisms (one circular and one linear) and two frost filters (heavy and light). The fixture features two independent color wheels, each with seven dichroic filter options plus open white, including CTO, CTB and UV filters. It also boasts a pair of independent GOBO wheels, each with seven slots for rotating replaceable GOBO patterns, and a GOBO morphing feature.
The more compact Focus Spot 4Z is a versatile spot fixture ideal both for event production and permanent installation in performance venues, churches, and nightclubs. Harnessing the power of a 200W cool white LED engine, paired with carefully designed optics, it generates a striking beam of intense light with an output of up to 7000 lumens. Heading up an extensive collection of beam manipulation features, the Focus Spot 4Z’s signature zoom function allows its beam angle to be altered remotely between 11 and 22-degrees. An independent color wheel boasts 8 vibrant options (+ open white), while the separate GOBO wheel features 6 aluminum replaceable patterns (+ open). The GOBOs are also fully rotatable, with indexed rotation, while the projection can be kept sharp - regardless of distance - using the motorized focus function. The unit is also equipped with two rotating prisms (6-facet linear and 6-facet circular) and offers precise 16-bit control over dimming as well as pan and tilt movement. In addition to the regular Focus Spot 4Z, which sports a sleek black exterior design, an alternative Focus Spot 4Z Pearl model is also available. This features an eye-catching all-white exterior casing, which is ideal for installation in venues with a light color scheme or use at events, such as weddings, where white fixtures may be preferable to traditional black models.
Utilizing the same 200W LED light engine as the Focus Spot 4Z, the Focus Spot 5Z offers an extended feature set developed specifically with the theater and house of worship markets in mind. It has a ‘Silent’ fan mode, which can be engaged remotely via DMX. This dims the fixture’s LED to approximately 70% of its full output, allowing the fans to slow to a speed at which they become virtually silent. This allows a lighting designer to switch to Silent mode for quiet moments during a production or reflective times of prayer in a church service, and then switch back to normal fan operation to utilize the fixture’s full output potential for louder sections where fan noise won’t be noticeable. In addition to all the features offered by the 4Z, the 5Z also features an additional color wheel, which adds a selection of more subtle pastel shades in addition to UV and useful CTO and CTB color correction filters. The 5Z also offers two frost filter options. The light frost is ideal for taking the hard edge off an open spot or to soft-focus a GOBO, applying a light fuzz effect while maintaining the integrity and shape of the pattern. Meanwhile, the heavy frost is for general washing and pairs very well with the CTO or CTB color filters, allowing color-corrected washes to be achieved. Finally, the 5Z offers a different GOBO selection to the 4Z. It features more texture and break-apart options, including a four-color dichroic glass GOBO which allows multicolored effects to be achieved from a single fixture.
The entry-level model of the series, the Focus Spot 2X is a compact spot fixture that is ideal for installation in venues where space is at a premium or the ceiling height is low. Bars, lounges, clubs, event centers, roller rinks and bowling alleys are just some of spaces where this fixture will be at home. Weighing just 14.5 lbs., it is also perfect for mobile entertainers and performers looking for a portable lighting solution. Despite its small size and low weight, the Focus Spot 2X still packs a serious punch from its highly efficient 100W cool white LED light source, which generates an output of up to 3700 lumens. It also offers an extensive collection of beam-shaping features, allowing for the creation of a wide variety of different effects. These include eight color options (plus white and split colors), two prisms (6-facet circular and 6-facet linear), manual zoom (for a beam angle of between 16 and 19 degrees) and a bonus 3W UV LED. The fixture also offers a six position (plus open) rotating GOBO wheel as well as motorized focus that can be used to ensure GOBO patterns are kept in focus at varying distances of projection. The supplied GOBOs have been carefully selected to allow for both break-apart projections and mid-air effects, however they can also be easily replaced for custom designs thanks to ADJ’s convenient EZ GOBO replacement feature.
The Focus Beam LED is the range’s dedicated beam fixture. It generates a concentrated beam that is surprisingly powerful, making it ideally suited for creating impressive and engaging aerial effects. Powered by an extremely efficient 80W white LED light source, with a color temperature of 7400K, the Focus Beam LED features an advanced optical system which creates an output comparable to an MSD 5R lamp. The unit’s large front lens projects a beam with a 5-degree angle that has an even field with no hot spots, which remains uniform over tremendously long projection distances. Featuring a variety of beam manipulation tools, the fixture offers lighting designers a wealth of creative potential. This begins with the 13-position (+ open) dichroic color wheel, which features a useful mix of vibrant saturated hues and more subtle muted tones as well as a CTO filter. In addition, there is a separate GOBO wheel, which is loaded with 15 fixed metal patterns (+ open). These include four beam reducers as well as a diverse collection of simple patterns that have been deliberately selected for generating sharp mid-air effects. Two separate indexed and rotatable prisms can then be applied to any selected GOBO and color combination to generate dynamic multi-beam effects. These take the form of 8-facet circular and 6-facet linear options, which can be used independently or layered together. The fixture also offers motorized focus as well as a linear 0-100% frost filter, which allows the unit to do double duty as a wash luminaire if required.
